Martin Fitzgerald Lawrence was born on April 16, 1965, in Frankfurt, West Germany, while his father was serving in the U.S. military. He developed his career through stand-up comedy, television and film.
Lawrence created and starred in the sitcom Martin and became a major comedy-film performer through Bad Boys, Blue Streak and the Big Momma’s House series. He reunited with Will Smith for the commercially successful Bad Boys: Ride or Die in 2024. Lawrence is the father of three daughters.
The old article spent most of its text ridiculing the size of the Big Momma character and describing prosthetic weight. That material was shortened and reframed: the appearance was created through professional makeup and a padded costume, not a real body transformation.
